What's new in the docs?

Over the last month, IBM Quantum documentation added a number of user-facing improvements, including content updates and new features. Many of these changes are a result of specific user requests! Check out the highlights below, and visit our documentation here(opens in a new tab).

New pages

• Transpile against custom backends
• Qiskit Runtime local testing mode
• Migrate from cloud simulators to local simulators

Updated content

• Improved directions in the Install Qiskit page to better assist new users with setting up their local Python environment
• New section in the OpenQASM 2 and the Qiskit SDK topic: Link OpenQASM 2 gates with Qiskit gates
• New content in the Configure preset pass managers section: see the Default settings and configuration options and Representing quantum computers for the transpiler pages

User experience improvements

• Added coloring and indentation to API reference pages for enhanced readability
• Improved image quality in certain pages
• Qiskit SDK API references use precise source code links that take you to the exact lines of code in GitHub (this feature was already available in the Qiskit Runtime and Provider API references)
