RXGate

class qiskit.circuit.library.RXGate(theta, label=None)

Bases: Gate

Single-qubit rotation about the X axis.

Can be applied to a QuantumCircuit with the rx() method.

Circuit symbol:

Matrix Representation:

RX(θ)=exp(iθ2X)=(cos(θ2)isin(θ2)isin(θ2)cos(θ2))\providecommand{\th}{\frac{\theta}{2}}\\\begin{split}RX(\theta) = \exp\left(-i \th X\right) = \begin{pmatrix} \cos\left(\th\right) & -i\sin\left(\th\right) \\ -i\sin\left(\th\right) & \cos\left(\th\right) \end{pmatrix}\end{split}

control

control(num_ctrl_qubits=1, label=None, ctrl_state=None)

Return a (multi-)controlled-RX gate.

Parameters

  • num_ctrl_qubits (int) – number of control qubits.
  • label (str or None) – An optional label for the gate [Default: None]
  • ctrl_state (int orstr or None) – control state expressed as integer, string (e.g. ‘110’), or None. If None, use all 1s.

Returns

controlled version of this gate.

Return inverted RX gate.

RX(λ)=RX(λ)RX(\lambda)^{\dagger} = RX(-\lambda)

Raise gate to a power.
